RIFLE / PISTOL COURSES
Target Down Group offers complete firearms training in Florida, with every course covering both rifle and pistol so students learn to run the two as one system. Our defense courses build shooters from the ground up, starting with fundamentals, progressing to reloads, malfunction clearing, rapid ready-up drills, multiple target engagement, movement, varied shooting positions, one-handed shooting, and defensive use of cover and concealment. Students also develop shoot/no-shoot decision-making and the ability to perform under time pressure, leaving with practical proficiency they can apply to home defense or threat-response scenarios.
Our tactical courses take those skills into close-quarters application, with movement-based live fire, close-quarters retention, room clearing, cover drills, and active threat scenarios that add realism and pressure. Each course closes by teaching students how to combine the two weapons, transitioning from rifle to pistol quickly and safely when the rifle runs dry, malfunctions, or the situation tightens into close quarters. Every course is offered in both day and night formats, with night training focused on white-light integration, weapon-mounted lights, low-light target identification, and room-clearing techniques, so students are prepared to perform when it matters most.

DEFENSIVE RIFLE
Day Course
17 October 2026: 12 pm - 5 pm

Day-to-Night Defensive Rifle is a progressive, realism-driven course designed to develop confident, capable carbine shooters across changing light conditions. Beginning in daylight and transitioning into low-light and darkness, this course focuses on practical rifle employment for personal defense and professional use. Emphasis is placed on movement, positional shooting, use of cover, close-quarters problem solving, and sound decision-making as environmental conditions degrade.
Students will progress through structured daylight fundamentals before applying those skills during reduced-light and night-fire evolutions. Live-fire drills and scenario-based exercises reinforce efficient rifle handling, target discrimination, and threat engagement while working around barriers, in confined spaces, and during rapidly evolving problems.
