DEFENSIVE RIFLE 
Day to Night Course

Day-to-Night Defensive Rifle is a progressive, realism-driven course designed to develop confident, capable carbine shooters across changing light conditions. Beginning in daylight and transitioning into low-light and darkness, this course focuses on practical rifle employment for personal defense and professional use. Emphasis is placed on movement, positional shooting, use of cover, close-quarters problem solving, and sound decision-making as environmental conditions degrade.

Students will progress through structured daylight fundamentals before applying those skills during reduced-light and night-fire evolutions. Live-fire drills and scenario-based exercises reinforce efficient rifle handling, target discrimination, and threat engagement while working around barriers, in confined spaces, and during rapidly evolving problems. This course delivers repeatable, real-world skills with a strong emphasis on safety, accountability, and immediate performance gains—day or night.

TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS

Daylight Rifle Fundamentals

• Barricade shooting (supported / unsupported, standoff)

• Shooting while moving (forward, rearward, and lateral)

• Positional shooting from standing, kneeling, and prone

Low-Light & Night Rifle Employment

• White light integration and management techniques

• Target identification and discrimination in reduced visibility

• Movement and use of cover in low-light environments

• Rifle manipulation and reloads in darkness

Close-Quarters Rifle Application

• High ready vs. low ready considerations in confined spaces

• Working tight angles, doorways, and structural offsets

• Efficient rifle control in close proximity to obstacles

Scenario-Based Training

• Home and structure-defense rifle problems

• Decision-making with unknown or changing threat indicators

• Movement, angles, and positional dominance in dynamic environments

• 1x Rifle (carbine)

• 2–3x Rifle Magazines (minimum)

• 1x Rifle Sling

• 1x Rifle Magazine Pouch or Chest Rig

• 250x Rounds of Carbine Ammunition

• 1x Weapon-Mounted White Light (mandatory)

• 1x Headlamp (recommended)

• 1x Set of Hearing Protection

• 1x Pair of Ballistic-Rated Eye Protection (clear lenses recommended)

• Weather-appropriate clothing (Shoes, Pants, Belt, Change of Clothes, Towel)

• Food and water for the training day
